The East London Music Group comprise some of the most talented musicians of their generation, all committed to bringing the highest musical standards to London’s vibrant East End. This concert will include a performance of John Adams’ 1992 work Chamber Symphony, for 15 players, alongside a newly-commissioned work by East London composer Robin Haigh. This new work will be inspired by and will commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Battle of Cable Street, which took place on 4 October 1936. It will feature narration given by two actors which will explain the story of the day.
