John Chowning Concert of Computer Music

The Centre for Digital Music is hosting two events celebrating the life and work of Professor John Chowning, inventor of FM synthesis and founder of the Stanford Center for Computer Research in Music and Acoustics. The year 2017-2018 marks the 50 year anniversary of the invention of FM synthesis.

An EECS Distinguished Lecture—Composing music from the inside out and a little history along the way (3PM)—and a Concert of Computer Music (6PM) will take place on Wednesday, 28 November 2018, both at the Arts Two Performance Space. The distinguished lecture is free for attendees; tickets (sold here) are required for the Concert of Computer Music.
